Here's a photo of me from yesterday!
Today was a fun day for us. Daddy came home early to do some work from home, and Mommy and I got out of the house... TWICE.
We went to the pediatrician for a weight check. I weigh 8lbs 2ozs, and nurse Robbie says that I am an over achiever. After that we came home and headed out for my first professional photo shoot! I don't have any proofs to show off yet, but I'll post a link as soon as we have one. I pooped 2 times, and wouldn't fall asleep, but I think there will be some cute shots. So many new things to look at make it hard for me to relax.
The photographer, Kate, was the same one who photographed Mommy and Daddy's wedding a year and a half ago. It's really cool that she could take my newborn photos and follow the progression of our little family. Thanks, Kate, for being so patient with me tonight!
And just for the fun of it, here's a link to my parents' wedding photos (a shameless plug to show them off) :http://www.wesleyworks.com/photography/weddings/carrie_and_john/index.html
We need to teach Preston how to pose. Babies are so wiggly, I don't envy the photographers who have a limited time with them to get some awesome shots. I'm lucky to have John around to take cute photos of PJ at home, and I think that Kate did an awesome job today.
It was SO nice to get out of the house for a little bit. This was my first time taking Preston out all by myself. John came on the photo shoot, but it was just me and the baby on the trip to the pediatrician. I guess I am spoiled for having a husband with a flexible schedule and who is so helpful. I have also been blessed to have my parents and John's parents around every weekend, and my mom home with me the first couple of days when John went to work. I feel for the new moms who have to do it all by themselves from the beginning. I'm sure it can get lonely and overwhelming in no time.
We got out the Rain Forest Baby Gym from Uncle Ted and Aunt Rachel. PJ is still kind of little for it, but Jack and Susie think it's the best! I'm sure in a few weeks Preston will be all about it, but for now, we're glad it's keeping the kitties entertained!
