On Thursday the five of us took a day trip to Lake George. We were planning to get there around noon, find a quiet spot to relax and eat a picnic lunch, and then catch a boat ride up the lake at 2:30. We pulled in to buy boat tickets at 11:50, only to find out the 2:30 wasn’t running. The only boat we could catch was leaving at noon! The parking guy let us park at right on the dock, and the adults quickly ate their sandwiches. We boarded right at 12, and we were off on our trip up the lake! It was really good timing that we got there before noon, otherwise we would have been completely out of luck. The weather wasn’t even that great, so we wouldn’t have wanted to stick around all afternoon.
We boarded the Lac du Saint Sacrement and took a 2 hour boat trip half way up Lake George. The weather was all over the place, with rain at times and beaming sunshine at others. Daddy took a lot of photos and we saw all of the mansions and cottages along the lake.
When we got back to the dock it was rainy and chilly, so we decided to just go home in time to make dinner.
On Friday, Grandma and Grandpa were there when we woke up in the morning, and just after lunch my Great Grandparent’s Locker arrived. We all left to go to Emily’s Graduation (Bennington Part 2), and met Uncle Ted, Aunt Rachel, Aunt Debbie, and Just Emily when we got there. I was worn out, so I took a long snooze while Grandma held me. They had a really nice cocktail party followed by dinner under a HUGE tent. I got to meet all of Emily’s friends and got passed around quite a bit!
We went right to bed when we got home because we had to get up bright and early to head back to Bennington (Bennington Part 3) for the Emily’s actually graduation ceremony. Congrats Emily!!
We went back to the lake for a picnic lunch, and some relaxing.
Sunday morning Mom and Dad had to pack everything for the bittersweet trip home. I slept the whole way in the car!
I had a really fun first vacation with lots of new firsts: rolling over, swimming, Lake George, canoeing, tasting sand, bathing in a wash basin, and hikes in the woods.
Daddy is working hard at getting more photos up. There is a new album on the Shutterfly now. Photos from the first half of the week are stuck on Daddy’s other computer. When we get a new power cord we can upload those!
Oh, and let’s not forget that I am 20 weeks now!!
