She got her toes dipped in the lake and toenails painted for the first time. She loved playing on the lawn on a beach towel with Tia Deb, and she got passed around to everyone all weekend long. It’s nice for Mommy to have some extra hands. I was even able to finish a little dress that I was knitting for her. Preston and Luke are very excited to go back to the lake again. I think then next time will be in July. The boys had an awesome time, too. Luke loves going on boat rides now. I think he was a little nervous about it last year. And Preston is very confident in the water, something that took him most of the summer last year. The water, in my opinion, was freezing, but the kids were able to splash around in short dips and then dry off on the lawn in the sun. It was HOT, which is very unusual for Memorial Day, but it made for a great long weekend. Preston caught a little fish with his Batman Fishing rod within the first hour of arriving. Then Daddy used the little fish as bait to catch a much bigger fish. And it actually worked! Poor little fish. It did rain for a bit on Sunday afternoon, but we managed to find projects and games for the kids to play inside. Part of the fun is finding new things to do when the outside isn’t an option.
Yesterday, I took Alyssa to the Pediatrician for her 4 month check-up! That’s right, she turned 4 months old on Tuesday. She is ALMOST rolling over from back to front. She can get her body all the way bent around into a backwards “C” tilt up on her side, kick her leg over, and then her shoulder gets stuck. Almost, but not quite. It’s only a matter of days, though. She is so much more flexible than the boys were at this age.
She weighs 14lbs 1oz, and is 25.5 inches long. She is 50% for both and tracking beautifully. She got two shots, and my delicate flower screamed for them. She was soon ok with a few snuggles, and fell asleep in the car on the short ride to daycare. Everything else to great with her, she’s right on track.
