Today mommy asked me to paint her a pretty rainbow, so here is my master piece!! I even went in rainbow order! We also had a snow day today. We all started out the day at work and school, but managed to make our ways home for lunch together. Then in the afternoon Mom had a lot more work to get done, so Dad and I did some construction projects, painted with water colors, watched some Steve Songs in the background and generally kept busy (and nap less). Then, when the snow was really deep we went outside to play for a little bit! I went sledding at Patrick and Quentin's house until I got too cold!

Yesterday I turned 3! I had a fun birthday, and took yellow cupcakes to school to share with all of my friends. Then Grandma and Grandpa came over for dinner about brought me some presents. My favorite is the LION COSTUME (It's really a sweatshirt, but I call it a costume).
Mom and Dad got me my OWN tractor that I can ride! I rode it around for a little bit last night, but it's too cold outside to play with it much these days. It will be SO fun to play with in the summertime. Before I share a few photos I'll share a special quiz Mommy gave me last night while I was in the bathtub. She is supposed to ask me every year, and see how the answers change as I grow up! Here you go: Favorite Color: Yellow Favorite Toy: Yellow dig-dig Favorite Fruit: Apple Favorite TV Show: Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Favorite thing to eat for lunch: Chicken and Noodles Favorite Outfit: Lion Costume Favorite Game: Pretend Favorite Snack: Fruit Snacks Favorite Animal: Ducks Favorite Song: Old MacDonald Favorite Book: Little Red Caboose Best Friend: Connor and Alivia Favorite Cereal: Chex Mix (aka Lucky Charms) Favorite thing to do outside: Ride the tractor Favorite Drink: Juice or warm milk Favorite Holiday: Christmas What do you like to take to bed with you at night: Choo-choo trains Favorite thing to eat for breakfast: Pancakes What do you want for dinner on your birthday: Chicken and Noodles What do you want to be when you grow up: A Princess So there you have it! I think some of the things I said were just because I was "in the moment," but we'll go with it. And here are some THREE-YEAR-OLD Photos!! Dear Gigi,
This morning Daddy offered to make me peanut butter and jelly toast. It sounded delicious, so I said yes! A few minutes later he handed me an English muffin with JUST jelly on it. I was not pleased. I said I wanted a SANDWICH. So Daddy put the two sides together to make a sandwich. I wanted a TRIANGLE sandwich, and explained to him that you have to cut it a certain way. He was annoyed, but went back to the drawing board. He made me half a peanut butter and jelly sandwich cut diagonally so that it looked like a triangle. I still wasn’t pleased. So he cut it into one-two triangles. I still wasn’t pleased. It needs to be FOUR triangles. So he cut it again. And I finally was able to eat my sandwich. Mommy ate my unwanted English muffin. Can you explain to Daddy, again, the correct way to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich? Thanks! Love, Preston Preston keeps asking me if Grandma or Grandpa is going to pick him up from school. I don’t have any plans for that to happen anytime soon, but it has happened in the past. I guess he thinks it’s fun? So anyway, I keep telling him that they are not going to pick him up from school, but that Grandpa is coming on Saturday to take him to see little trains (that’s my way of saying model trains – or ones that you can’t actually ride on). This morning Preston pressed me for a few more details.
Preston: Grandpa said I can ride on these trains? Me: No honey, these are just little trains that you watch. Preston: Like O gauge? It was then that I realized that I didn’t need to call them “little trains” anymore. Yes, Preston, you are going to see O gauge trains with Grandpa on Saturday. And then he wanted to know if there were different sizes of trains, because, you know, sometimes these model train layouts also have HO and N gauge trains. For the new baby, Mom and Dad bought a fancy (refurbished) video monitor. It does all sorts of fancy things like night-vision, pan-tilt-zoom, two-way communication, eyeball sensing, sound sensing, time travel, and warp-speed. It's supposedly for the new baby, but with a strict 10-day return policy they decided to try it out on me to make sure it was all that they had hoped for. It is. It's hilarious. They don't know how they survived these last 3 years without it. Now they want to get a second camera, so they can keep one in my room and one in the baby's room. Only a second camera you ask? That's right, the receiver can handle MULTIPLE cameras. We'll see how long the novelty of having the camera in my bedroom really lasts. As I mentioned, it has two way communication. And, since I'm only 3, I'm not really aware of them actually WATCHING me. It's kind of like the Santa Claus effect; I'm pretty sure he can see me, I just don't know how. With the new camera monitor, Daddy can ask me to get back under my covers when he sees me start to climb out of bed. BUT he's not in the doorway watching me. NOBODY should mess around with that kind of power. I think it's fun that we can talk to each other through the "robot" in my room (that's what I call the camera that sits on my shelf). I would say that it is a HIT! Who's watching YOU!? BONUS PICTURE!
