Today we spent the WHOLE day outside. Mommy and Daddy had a lot of yard work that they wanted to do, and today was the perfect day. I, on the other hand, am totally bored of yard work. Clearly, I can't help out, and all I want to do with play with Mom and Dad. Yard work is the worst! I liked being outside, though, and we say bunnies, birds, and squirrels. Again, I don't have a photo of the marigolds. To me, they still look like dirt, but Mommy says she can see some tiny shoots if you she looks closely. I think we'll have exciting Marigold news in the morning!

Today Mommy and I woke up at 5:30am to watch the royal wedding of Catherine Middleton and Prince William. I slept; but Mommy thoroughly enjoyed it. The bride was stunning, the service was beautiful and personal, the hats were fantastic, and Mommy wants to get married all over again (to Daddy of course). As a little boy, I'm pretty sure that I will never really care that I was there to watch this wedding, but I was, nevertheless.
The Marigolds look the same today. I'll surprise you all when there is a change! From Mommy: I really loved watching the wedding, and I had a pretty good day because of it. It really put me in a good mood and was an awesome event to wake up to. However... Tonight we watched the WORST MOVIE I HAVE EVER SEEN - The Back-up Plan. It was indescribably awful. I wanted to turn it off after the first 15 minutes (and should have), but somehow I stuck it out. It was an historic day, and I am not shy to say that I loved every minute. Chores and More Chores. Mommy has been so busy with chores I feel like I've hardly seen her. I guess thats what happens when everything is procrastinated then left to due in one night. Daddy could have been more help, but he was no slouch. We are having chore wars around here lately.
As promised, here is a picture of the Marigolds, Day 2 - Still looks like dirt! Today we planted my Easter Marigold kit. I think it will be fun to give you a daily progress report on how they are growing. Right now it just looks like dirt, but Mommy says that if we leave it in the sun and water it everyday that we will get flowers! I'm excited to see what happens. It's is warm at daycare; they haven't turned the AC on yet, so lately I have just been hanging out in a onesie all day. So today I got dressed in a romper, and they are my new favorite wardrobe item! I love summer clothes! Here are some pictures of planting the marigolds, From Mommy:
Preston has been asleep since 8pm. Normally he would wake up (or I would wake him up) right now to eat and then sleep through the rest of the night. Tonight we are letting him sleep to see what will happen. It's not really a great night to do this because I have to work in the morning, but I guess it's now or never. He didn't wake himself up, so he can't be THAT hungry. I'll let you know how it goes. I'm expecting to see his little face at 2am, but maybe I'll be pleasantly surprise. Tonight we had Nate, Karen, Kai and Akira, and Siobhan and Chris over for the first patio picnic of the summer! We got Grumpy's BBQ and had a beautiful evening in the backyard. Preston went to bed at 8, because he was getting cranky. We had a really lovely night! *UPDATE* He slept until 3:30am. I knew that was going to happen. I know I've been slacking on the blog lately, and there are plans to fix that. WIth Mommy sick last week, everything got more complicated, and the blog suffered. Then over the weekend we weren't home and Dad didn't bring the computer, so we couldn't post. Anyway, we are back and ready to post!
I am so excited that it's finally feeling like spring. My whole life it's been cold, and let me tell you I am really loving the warm. Who knew it could be so awesome? I took a walk outside with Mommy and Daddy today, and we are ready get out some summer clothes! This past Saturday we went to Mema Locker's house for first Easter. I met some more new people: Great Aunt Sue, Cousin Alex, Uncle Steve, Uncle Don and Evan. We have some photos to share from that. It was rainy that day, so we didn't get to go for a walk. Then on Sunday it was EASTER! We spent my FIRST night away at Gigi Nedick's house on Saturday night. Mommy hasn't been bragging (because she doesn't want to ruin it), but I've been sleeping for 6-7 hours at a time, pretty regularly. On Saturday night I slept from 11-6! We all got up and went to church on Easter Sunday. I slept for the first half, and then fussed for the second. Mom says I need to work on my church behavior. I say "Mom, I'm a baby!" After church my grandparents took me for a walk in the stroller around the neighborhood. Then I met Great Aunt LuAnn, Great Uncle Charlie, and cousins Charlie and Mikey. Ok, so I know you are all wondering, did the Easter Bunny bring me a Wubbanub. Here's the deal. I've recently decided that pacifiers aren't that exciting anymore. I know, I know, I made such a big deal about it before, but why ask for something I'm not really interested in anymore? So instead the Easter Bunny brought me some cool other stuff: BUBBLES, some Easter themed board books, and my favorite - a marigold growing kit. We are going to plant the marigolds soon, so we can watch them grow! The Easter Bunny (Gigi and Grandpa) got me some fun stuff, too, some books (Mommy's favorite - the Pokey Little Puppy) and cute clothes. Tonight Mommy and I met Grandma Krug at JoAnn's for a little bit, while Daddy is at choir. There are a lot of new photos from Easter in the Shutterfly album, but here are a few highlights: Mommy is feeling a bit better, and I was very nice and gave her 6 and half hours of sleep last night. Her cough wasn't quite as nice, so she was still up a few times, but not because of me!
We are all packed for Easter Weekend. Tomorrow we are going to Mema Locker's house, and then we are going to our FIRST overnighter at Grandma and Grandpa Nedick's. I apparently require a LOT of stuff. I have: a duffle bag full of clothes, a diaper bag, a Pack and Play, a bumbo seat, and a baby gym. I could probably have enough stuff for a week, and we are only going to be gone one night. I can't imagine what it's going to be like when we go on vacation this summer. Maybe Mom will have figure out how to consolidate by then. We probably take lots of pictures this weekend, so we can spice up the blog. From Mommy:
Phew! Strep Throat really knocks your pants off! It has been so long since i felt that sick, and having a 3 month old makes it seem much worse. The best way to recover is to sleep, and we're still not doing a lot of that. John was great and took over some of the nighttime fussiness. I am still not 100%; in fact, I would would say I'm still only feeling about 65% better. It's enough that I can function, and I'm not in a lot of pain anymore. I am hoping to be fully recovered for traveling and Easter this weekend. The rest of the week has been pretty normal for PJ. He went to daycare like usual. I don't know what's going on with his sleeping. I think I'm delirious at night, so I don't pay much attention to when he is awake, but last night he didn't want to go to sleep until 10. Usually I can at least get him to nap starting around 8 o 8:30, but he just wasn't sleepy. Once I'm feeling all the way recovered, we are going to crack down on his sleep schedule again. It's a constant battle, and this week I have given up because I was just too sick. He's a lovely, smiley, giggley boy now, and as I say every 2 weeks - THIS is the perfect size. He doesn't need to get any bigger. Mommy has strep throat. She feels pretty terrible. I went to daycare today, so she could try to recover at home, but she's still not better, yet. I really hope she feels better soon, because a sick mommy is no fun! And with Easter this weekend, we have a major celebration to deal with. I also hope that I don't get sick. That would be even worse.
We're all going to bed early to try to fend off germs and get better fast! Today I had a sleepy afternoon with my Grandparents. Thankfully, at the last minute they were able to come babysit, so that Mom and Dad could see Mahler and Poulenc at the Symphony. Mommy is still sick, but she had to go to the Symphony to work. Daddy was happy to be able to go, too. We had a awesome weekend! |
