Blawging about the Holidaze

We are finally getting around to writing about the holidays, and boy were those days busy!  If felt like we were on the road a lot with having to visit everyone.
I have a lot of fun pictures to share, and I don't even know where to begin with a re-cap! I'll try to explain it all in the pictures, and then pick up any details that might be missing.

On Christmas Eve Grandpa, Daddy, Uncle Ted, and I went to see some little choo-choo trains (read captions for more info)
Then we went to church, where I got to dress up like a King (except that I only wanted to wear the crown for a few seconds, so then Mommy got to dress up like a King).
From Mommy:  Preston had the WIGGLES on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.  He is a two year old, so some amount of wiggles are to be expected, but these wiggles were crazy.  My normally subdued little guy was racing up and down the isles at church, crawling under the pews, and generally being a nut.  Yet, on top of all the wiggles, he was somehow paying attention, because he new exactly when it was his turn to go up to the alter and be a king.  I think he is still too little to know what was going on with Christmas, but he knew that something exciting was happening!

Back to Preston:
Then we went back to Grandma and Grandpa's house for Christmas eve fondue.  Uncle Ted, Aunt Rachel, and Liora were visiting for the whole week, so we go to see them a lot, and Liora and I had matching pajamas for Christmas eve!
In the morning there were MILLIONS of presents under the Christmas tree.  Santa obviously visited us!
After Christmas morning at Grandma and Grandpa's we piled in the car to head to Gigi and Grandpa's house... Where there were MORE presents!
So that was my Christmas!  We have more photos to share from the snowstorm that we got a few days later, but I'll try to post those tomorrow.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Is it really a crane?

Today I blew my mommy's mind.

We were reading one of my favorite bedtime books: My First Things that Go.  We've read it a hundred times before, but tonight I noticed something that I've never seen before.
Take a good look at this picture:
Picture
It's just your regular, average, 18 wheeled, GIGANTIC mobile crane, right?

Look closer:

See anything unusual?  I didn't think so.  Mommy and Daddy didn't see it at first either.  I had to point it out.  This crane... looks like a HORSE!

See?:

I just blew your mind, too, didn't I?

I KNEW IT!

2 Year Old Molars

Yes, Mom, there is a reason for my random behavior this week. My toothies hurt, AGAIN!  Not to mention that having a cough makes it hard for me to sleep.  Hopefully these little buggers will all pop through the gums soon so I can get back to my normal self!  Tomorrow is my Christmas party at daycare, and most of my friends won’t be there because they are sick.  Daddy might come to party with me!  That would be fun!

Look, I made you this awesome Kitchen Sculpture.  ENJOY!

From Mommy:
It’s been a rough week.  I thought Preston was just fighting his way through (another) cold, and that’s definitely part of it.  Just at dinner tonight, when he was gnawing on a plastic knife, I decided that that might just be a classic teething symptom.  Sure enough!  His bottom two year old molars are starting to pop through the gum.  Nothing seems to be happening on the top, yet, but I hope they aren’t far behind.  I am SO ready to have teething behind us!  His symptoms make more sense now: diarrhea, crankiness, random fevers, rosie cheeks, and not wanting to eat.  The poor guy also had a cold, but I really hoping that it’s almost gone.  I want a happy kiddo for Christmas next week.

Olympic Training

It’s never too early to start training for gold medal status.  So I’ve been working on my skiing skills.  Tia Debs got me these awesome snowman skis, and I like to slide around the playroom with them on (in my pajamas).  There is a small problem though.  I'm supposed to wear the skis with my snow boots, and snow boots are NOT ok.

Oh Christmas Tree

Mommy and Daddy had a busy weekend of Bach Concerts and rehearsals, which meant that I got to hang out with my grandparents all weekend!  They have two concerts, which means that the grandparents get to take turns on who gets to stay home with me and who gets to go to the concert.  Gigi and Grandpa arrived on Saturday to spend the weekend.

On Saturday we went to get our Christmas tree, but it was a bit more complicated this year than last because Mom and Dad had the bright idea to try to get at “live” Christmas tree to then plant when we were done with having it inside.  That little idea sent them on a wild goose chase for a tree, so I did the normal thing with Grandma and Grandpa and chopped one down!  We even got to take a hayride behind a giant tractor!  I was a little bit shy for the random camera man, but here is the picture of the tree!

Picture
Mom and Dad failed on their quest for a live tree.  It was a little bit out of their league for this year.  So while I hung out with Grandma and Grandpa at home they went out and chopped one down, too.  And all was well with the world again.

Picture
Gigi and Grandpa stayed until dinner time on Sunday when Mom and Dad were done with their concerts.  We had a lot of fun playing in my tunnel, reading stories, and watching football!  Gigi made the yummiest stuffed shells, and I ate TWO!

Gavin's Big News!

Over the weekend we went to visit Gavin, and his parents, Phil and Holly.  The big news is that Gavin is going to be a big brother!!  We are so excited to meet another new baby!  We had a lot of fun together playing with all of Gavin’s toys.  We were supposed to go to Christmas at the Valley at LVC, too, but Mom and Dad found out that Dr. Mecham is on sabbatical, so they were less excited to go.  Not to mention that 2 year olds (*ahem* ME) don’t like to sit quietly through choir concerts.  We did stop by the campus just as the concert was finishing up so that we could look for familiar faces and check out what is new on campus!  I got a cookie :-D

Here are some pictures of our visit:
