unless you're staring at... YOU'RE OWN FOOT! That's right. I have two of those. Since Connor can grab his feet, I must be able to grab mine. I just have to figure out how! It's big news for Mommy and Daddy that I stare at them, though. And Mommy has been putting fun socks on me to encourage me and spark my attention! It will be even BIGGER news when I finally find my feet, but lets take things one STEP at a time.
Tonight I went with Mommy catch up with her old friend, Pia. It had been a long time since Mommy had talked to her, so they had a lot of catching up to do. I went along as show-and-tell. If you haven't yet - Don't forget to take the quiz!! Calling all loyal blog readers - It's Quiz time! If you've been following along in Preston's little life, this should be easy! If you're a first time reader, all of the answers can be found in the archives. Have FUN! We'll post the answers in a few days (not that you'll really need them). I have a new toy! Grandma Krug got me a doorway jumper along with some other fun summer toys. It's too chilly to get out my new kiddie pool, but my parents were very excited to try out the jumper. It's a lot of fun! I'm still kind of little for it. I guess one is supposed to JUMP in the seat, but I haven't figured out how to do that. I just like to hang out in it and spin around. It came with a musical mat that plays different sounds depending on where you jump on it. I haven't quite figured that out either, but it's only a matter of time! Grandma also got me a life preserver for canoe trips on the lake, a bathing suit, and some fun mesh teething toys! I'll let you know how everything works out with the rest of my new things! Here is a new picture of me in my jumper: From Mommy:
I think we are all starting to recover from our colds. I never had it that bad; I was just exhausted - like usual - from poor sleep. John seems to be in better spirits, and Preston is waking up less congested. Tonight I used a new trick that I learned from reading way too much on the internet. I put a few drops of breastmilk in his nose. He snorted and fussed for a little bit while I let it work its way into his throat, and then I sucked it out again (like my graphic explanation!?). It seems to have worked at least a little bit! He is breathing clearly and sleeping soundly. The poor guy is all worn out! That's my cue to sleep, too. Today I am 10 weeks. I'm so lucky I had Grandma and Grandpa Krug visit me they missed me a lot. I think I'm starting to feel better, lets hope that I don't get sick again anytime soon. It sucks! Tomorrow is back to the grind at daycare. I get to see my friends Connor and Naiomi and Miss Tiffany, Miss Erin, and Miss Courtney. I'm sad I don't get to see Mommy and Daddy during the day, but I know they are working hard for me. From Daddy: Carrie has been complaining I haven't been doing enough to help, which is totally untrue, I've taken over blogging temporarily. Check out these pictures from tonight. I love the first one! From Mommy:
I got to take a nap today! Yay! John has been helping out a lot more, and I'm glad that I got to nap while he was on baby duty. The baby napped, too, but at least I didn't have to worry about him waking up. This is a tough age, I think. Preston is awake and happy a lot more than ever before, but he's still learning how to entertain himself, still working on using his hands, and still pretty needy. He loves to smile and talk, but can turn fussy at the drop of a dime. He's also been sick with a cold for the last few days. To his credit he's still a very happy baby despite a stuffy nose, but he gets cranky more easily and usually hates having his nose sucked. We've all been battling the same cold, so it's been pretty boring around here. We can't wait until the weather is nice, our noses and heads are clear, and we can do family trips outside. Mommy and Daddy have been so busy with work and the baby they hardly have time for themselves. On top of that Mommy and Daddy are both feeling sick, they are sniffling and sneezing all the time. :-( Friday, my parents both took a sick day off of work, and spent a whole day at home. The at night Aunt Emily and her friend Sarah came over the watched me while Mom and Dad had a night out on the town. I hear they went for sushi (yuk!), and played a game of bowling. Daddy won, of course. Saturday was cold but sunny, mom and dad took me grocery shopping at Giant, then mommy had to go to work at the symphony. Daddy and me had a fun night of laughs and talking (ooohs and ahhhs). Mom came home in the nick of time, I was hungry! Daddy's thoughts. Tomorrow, PJ is 10 weeks, I can't believe it. I hope I start feeling better soon, with the lack of sleep it's hard to get better quickly. Also hope it warms up soon, I have lots of yard work to do before it gets too late. Mom and Dad have been giving me tummy time since the day they brought me home from the hospital. It's supposed to help make me strong and hold my head up. When I was 3 weeks old I was strong enough to roll over, but I didn't really know what I was doing. It just sort of happened. But NOW I can roll over from my tummy to my back on both sides, and I know what I'm doing! Mommy wants to get a video of it, but I'm all tuckered out for the night. We'll try again tomorrow. We are still missing Daddy. He was home for about an hour before he had to go to the Bach Choir recording session. By the time he gets home it's bedtime! Tonight is the last night of it, and Mommy and I are SO glad. We love the Bach Choir, but it's time for some real family time. MOM! You're embarrassing me!
..for me. I love to grow. But they are tough on Mommy who is up with me all night, because I'm just so HUNGRY. I grow like it's my job, except, in the instance, I worked on the weekend. Now it's back to my carefree life at daycare!
From Mommy: We apologize that PJ's blog entries have gotten shorter, but the little guy is wearing us out! By the time we sit down to write a blog we just want to crash! I've been so tired the last few nights, that John has taken over blogging. Like Preston mentioned, he went through a growth spurt in the last few days. His 0-3 footsie pajamas barely fit anymore. Between starting daycare, getting shots and going through a growth spurt Preston was up every HOUR last night. That combined with John snoring makes for a really tough night for me. Tonight is looking more promising, and I am eager to hit the pillow. We are really working on getting Preston on more of a routine. I think it will help him to sleep longer at night. After 9 weeks of broken sleep, I am ready for a longer stretch! So without further delay I have a date with pillow and my memory foam mattress topper! So many visitors. Both sets of Grandparents visited me today. Grandpa and Gigi Nedick came to see Daddy sing in the Bach Choir Concert. I'm still too little to appreciate the finer parts of Bach, one day I'm go see Mommy and Daddy perform. Then Grandparents Krug came to babysit me while Mommy went to the concert, Grandpa Bob bicycled from their house in Nazareth. After the concert, the adults all had dinner, Lemon Chicken and there was pie. I only got breast milk, but the food smelled delicious. I even sat at the table during dinner, awake and alert and well behaved. It's not so cold out anymore either, I even took an adventure in the Jordan Creek Park, but I was still bundled up like an Eskimo.
Daddy's Note: Both Mommy and Daddy are exhausted, but Carrie won this time and is sleeping soundly. Today was Concert number 2 with the Bach Choir, it went really well and my parents really enjoyed the music. Now we just have the recordings left. Cant wait for this crazy week to be over. As for the Latest survey, surprisingly Pink is No.1 (really?) with Green a close second. |
