Florida Part 1

Mommy, Daddy, and I went to Florida!  To get there we had to take an airplane, and it was my first airplane ride EVER!  I was so excited to be at the airport; I got to see all of the airplanes out on the tarmac.

To get to the airport we had to pack up everybody, Jack and Susie included, and head to Mema and Poppop Locker’s house.  We stayed overnight there, and I got to sleep in a big boy bed.  One time I climbed out of bed, and I couldn’t figure out how to get back it.  I curled up on the floor, but it was cold, so I started to whine a little bit.  Mommy came in to save me.  She put me back in bed, and I didn’t climb out ever again.  We got up early in the morning to go to the airport.  Because Mom and Dad had a little kiddo with them (ME) we got to go through a special line in security, and then it was off to the airplane!

The airplane is a lot like the rocket ship on Little Einstein’s, so when we were ready to take-off Daddy and I patted our legs and said BLAST OFF!

The ride was long and boring.  Mom and Dad brought a ton of activities for me to do, but I only wanted to play with the tray table on the plane.  We were all glad when it was over, and I fell asleep when we had about 20 minutes to go.

Daddy went to pick up his new car for the week, a white car.  We have been home for 3 days, and I still miss the white car, even though Mom and Dad don’t miss it.

We drove from the airport to Uncle John and Aunt Barbara’s BOAT!  That’s where we stayed for 2 nights.  I got to drive a golf cart!  Please note - for future reference - that the correct way to walk down the dock is by holding hands with an adult.
We went to the pool that was near the boat, and had dinner.  Then I got to sleep in another big boy bed!  I didn’t climb out at all!

On our second day in Florida I got to meet my Grand Grandma!  She is the last of my great grandparents for me to meet, so it was an exciting moment for all of us!  We took her out to lunch at Bubba Gump Shrimp.  It was nice to see her and catch up!  We took a group photo, and later that night Daddy went out to CVS to have it printed, and then we gave it to Grammy as a gift later in the week.
More coming soon!

I had an exciting adventure with Grandma and Grandpa this week.  Mom and Dad have been super busy with the Bach Choir.  They had three concerts last week!  One concert was in Maryland, and it was on a Wednesday.  So Grandma and Grandpa were in charge of picking me up at daycare and then dropping them off again.  I’ve never been to a middle-of-the-week sleep over before!  Grandma picked me up and we went to church for dinner and the Wednesday night Lenten service.  Then we went home for a bath and bedtime!  In the morning I helped Grandpa make breakfast!  Then he took me to look for some choo-choos before dropping me off at daycare in the morning.  We didn’t see any choo-choos, though.  Mom and Dad were home in time to pick me up right after my nap, and I was REALLY happy to see them.

Mom and I haven’t been able to blog much, because Mommy’s life has been crazy with Bach Choir, Schadt competition, and designing for her business.  Hopefully we’ll be able to write more, because I don’t want to forget anything!

Today is my 26 month birthday!  So we’ll do a snapshot in time to catch you all up!

My favorite foods:
Fruit Snacks, Noodles, Soup, Chicken nuggets (what I call ALL chicken), fruit, apples and peanut butter

Favorite toys:
Remote control car, choo-choo trains, balls, duckies

Favorite books:
The school bus book, Old MacDonald Had a Farm (E-I-E-I- O Donald), The Piggy Book (Pig Kahunas), The Little Red Caboose (The Boose Book), The animals book, The firefigthers of busytown

Favorite TV shows:
Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Little Einsteins (Rocketship)

Phrases:
Be right back, Ok? -  I did it myself! Doing Daddy, making noise? – I get it! -
And put them all together:
It’s broken, Daddy fix it, Daddy’s tools? I get it, be right back, ok? I get it tools.  Here you go, Daddy. Fix it?

Cute words:
Noot-nacks (fruit snacks)
Coconuts (peanuts)
Tea (seltzer water)

From Mommy:
We are going to FLORIDA!  I’ll try to blog a few times just so I can keep up with everything that we do.  It’s going to be so fun!  And I am SO ready for a vacation, since March has been so crazy.  It SNOWED today, but it’s supposed to be in the 80’s in Florida all week.  That sounds perfect to me.

Preston is blossoming right before our eyes.  Every day he says something that we didn’t know he could say like “Not that one, Mommy, DIFFERENT one” and “My cup is EMPTY.”  I’m so glad he is able to communicate so well.  It makes my life easier, and it’s REALLY cute.
He has had a lot of time with all of his Grandparent’s this month because John and I have been gone so much for concerts and rehearsals and work.  We are excited to be able to reconnect as a family this week!

Cute stories from the week:

Tonight Preston told me that his “neck hurts inside.” I’m pretty sure that’s toddler-speak for having a sore throat.  He has a cold and his voice is scratchy.  I gave him Tylenol to help him sleep, but I hope he feels better soon.

A few nights ago we were sitting at the table eating dinner, and John and I weren’t paying much attention.  We finally looked over to see Preston eating his raisins (by request for dessert) with his scissors, picking them up individually by snipping them with the tip of the scissors and bringing them to his mouth.  He DID get in trouble for doing it, and we took the scissors away.  But the more I think about it, the more I’m impressed.  One, because he even had the idea to do it.  Two, because he had the fine motor skills to pull it off.  And three, because he got away with it for a long time!  He was totally focused, and then really upset when we took the scissors away.  So we explained that it wasn’t safe, and we didn’t want him to get hurt.  It blew over.

I got a very good report from daycare today.  Preston has new teachers in his classroom,  so they are going through a bit of an adjustment, but his new teacher told me that she was very impressed with how nice and helpful Preston was with all his friends today.  He has been really agreeable lately at home, too!

Preston’s latest words and phrases:
- Moustache
- I did it by myself!
- Different one, Mommy
- Mommy, Got the boogies!  TA DA!
- The sun is too bright!

He is constantly asking us “ What happened?” or “what’s that?”  if there is any noise at all.  And usually his own answer is “Daddy’s making noise!”  Daddy gets the blame for a lot of things around here.
