It's DONE!

I haven't been blogging much, because without the help of Mommy I can't get much done.  And she has been working frantically on finishing the "sweater from hell."  So guess what?  IT'S DONE!  And it looks a lot better than she expected.
In the meantime I have a lot of news.  I can now army crawl my way around the house and daycare.  I'm better at it at daycare, because they have awesomer toys to crawl for. At home the only things that interest me are keys, cell phones, and remote controls.  Don't even TRY to tempt me with regular baby toys... quite frankly, those are for BABIES... and I am a big boy now.
I don't have any toothies yet.  Mommy says I am a slow toothie-getter.  I'm trying, but the blasted things just don't want to break through!
I am SO good at getting cheerios and eating them.  They are delicious, and totally worth the effort of grabbing and shoving in my mouth.  I usually get 2 or 3 fingers along with the cheerio, but as long as that round yummy guy is in my mouth I won't complain.

Today we celebrated Grandma's birthday (early).  We went to the Olive Garden with Grandma, Grandpa, and Aunt Emily, and afterward they came over to get their stuff out of the freezer..... Which reminds me...

WE HAD A HURRICANE.  Ms. Irene swept through here on Saturday night, leaving Grandma and Grandpa (and Gigi and Grandpa) without electricity.  It also ravaged the East Coast, causing lots of flooding and extensive power outages.  Thankfully, we were fine; virtually untouched by the hurricane.  It knocked off our neighbors fence post and dropped a few sticks in our yard (oh the devastation), but nothing other than that.  Mom and Dad got up on Sunday morning and made hurricane pancakes (regular pancakes in honor of the hurricane), and because no other stores were open, I made my very first trip to Walmart!  We had to go because Mom took advantage of the lazy day to make my croquet hat, and she didn't have the right colored thread.  Every Labor Day weekend apparently my crazy family plays croquet in silly hats.  This being my first year at the match, I needed a super cool hat.  Mom has truly outdone herself, but we can't do a big reveal until the match.  I know you all can't wait to see it!

So without further adieu, here I am modeling "the sweater from hell."  It's not mine to keep, it's going to my inside baby friend Gavin when he arrives in a few weeks, but Mom wanted to see what it looks like on a real baby.
Mom thinks it's super silly, but I forget how to sit up when I have the hood on!  It just makes me want to tip over.

What do you think of the sweater (Mom needs a lot of praise on this one, it literally took her FOREVER to finish it, with TONS of set backs)?

Mealtime Mischief

I'm feeling better... better enough to cause a bit of mischief!  Mom turned her back on me for a few minutes to answer the phone.  I grabbed the bowl of HOMEMADE pears and blueberries and dumped them all over me, my high chair, and my pants.  It was fun to paint them all over my tray.

Earthquake Baby

I'd like to preface this post with the fact that I was born and raised on the east coast, in PA no less.  We don't have crazy weather beyond thunderstorms, hail, and the occasional flood.  Most of the east coast is unconcerned about today's minor earthquake, but it's big news in the life of a baby.  However, I was the only baby at daycare to even notice the earthquake.  It woke me up prematurely from my nap!  Miss Erin called me the "earthquake baby" for the rest of the day.  For history's sake it was a 5.8 Earthquake in Virginia this afternoon a little before 2pm.  We felt it here in PA and the tremors traveled all the way into Rhode Island.  Pretty cool!

I don't feel good today.  I have a cold and a little bit of a fever.  I almost fell asleep at the dinner table, so Mom put me to bed early (how can I be writing a blog if mom already put me to bed?!?!).  I hope I feel better soon, I want to go on a playdat

Birthday Bikeride

Happy Birthday, DADDY!!

Yesterday (my 31st week) was Daddy's birthday!  He basically got to celebrate all weekend long.  On Friday night Gigi and Grandpa came over and they stayed all day on Saturday.  We went out for barbecue for lunch at Daddy's favorite - Grumpy's, and then Uncle Joe came up for dinner.  I stayed home with Gigi and Grandpa, while mom and dad and Uncle Joe went out for dinner (that's 2 birthday meals so far are you keeping track?).
The best part of Daddy's birthday was his present: a bike seat for ME!!  I went for my first bike ride and loved it.  I even have a helmet to keep me safe.  I don't love the helmet as much; it's hard to get it off of me.
Sunday was daddy's actual birthday, so Mommy and I got up and made him pancakes for dinner (birthday meal number 3), and went for a morning family bikeride... I loved it so much I fell asleep.  After lunch (it probably doesn't count as a birthday meal because we just had Grumpy's leftovers) Daddy got to spend a much time as he wanted in his favorite store, Best Buy.  And then after my nap we went to Grandma and Grandpa Krug's house for birthday dinner number 4 (with birthday pie and more presents).

Stay tuned tomorrow for another Periodic Traffic Report.

And as requested here are some more photos from the Ironpigs baseball game.

Take me out to the ball game

On wednesday night I went to my FIRST baseball game.  Mom and Dad got free tickets from their wedding photographer to see the Iron Pigs.  I didn't like having to sit still in the stands, but I managed to make friends with everyone sitting around us.  They all love my crazy hair!  Mom and Dad kept switching off to take me for walks around the stadium.  I'm a busy boy, and I like to keep moving.  Dad taught me all about baseball, and we sang "Take me out to the ball game."  I wore my awesome Rutgers Baseball hat from Uncle Joe.  There are more pictures on Shutterfly.

False Alarm

Today Mommy got a call from Daycare, because my teachers were a little bit concerned about a gasping sound that I was making.  It sounds like I am trying to catch my breath, but I think it's pretty funny.  Anyway, Mom called the Pediatrician, and they said that they wanted to see me.  She picked me up from daycare (I was happy to see her, and was acting completely normal).  She questioned whether she even needed to take me to the doctor, but decided it was better to be safe than sorry.  The Doctor weighed me (I'm 20 pounds now), checked my breathing, heart, and lungs.  They put this clampy thing on my big toe to check my pulse and my oxygen level.  Mommy thought it was pretty funny that they could check my breathing from my big toe.  Everything was normal.  The doctor said that it was probably nothing and sent us home.
I took a long nap at home, and when I woke up I put on a great gasping sound performance for Mom.  As she suspected, I learned a new sound!!  I was just practicing it.   Boy did she feel like a dope for taking me to the doctor.

Musikfest

We had a fun weekend, despite the rain.  On Friday Mom had a playdate with her mommy friends WITHOUT the babies!  Then on saturday we had a quiet day together, did a few chores and ran a few errands, and then Daddy and I had the evening alone.  Mommy had to drive Aunt Emily to Hoboken so she could catch an early flight.
Today I finally met Sheila, and we went to Musikfest in the rain.  Sheila played a gig at Musikfest, and Mom had to get her annual funnelcake.  I loved Musikfest, and I learned a new tricky thing to do in my stoller - stand up on front bar.  It's my new FAVORITE thing to do.  I also met my first horse.  It was WAY bigger than the kitties.

School Pictures

Yesterday we got the proofs of my school pictures!  Of course I'm the cutest cutie pie, and my parents are going to buy a few.  I wanted to share them with you, too.
We now have video of my in the Jumperoo, but Daddy has to upload it still.

Yesterday I had another fun day we Grandma, and Great-Grandma came for lunch, too!  We did the same thing that we did last week, were Mom dropped us off at the store with a stroller, and Grandma and I walked home.  We didn't take Sophie this time, so we wouldn't have another bad scare.  I took an awesome nap, and ate all of my lunch.  Grandpa joined us all for dinner on the patio, and then it nearly time for bed.

From Mommy:
I'm sorry that we haven't been posting as often.  I've been working on various projects in the evening, and the time just gets away from me.  Right now I'm working on two different knitting projects, a fun hat and a crazy sweater.  I've been working on this sweater for what seems like FOREVER, but I often get frustrated with it.  So I started a hat so that I could have some easy and fun to turn to when I was sick of the sweater.  I was so frustrated over the weekend, because I had to pull out 2 hours of work on the sweater.  The perfectionist in me couldn't handle the mistake I had made.  I tried so hard to think of a way to fix it without having to pull it out, but in the end I had no choice.  After I pulled out all my hard work I needed to put it aside for a few days.  Anyway, I picked it back up last night, meaning to leave myself some time to blog.  But then 11pm rolled around, and I went to bed.  I'll post pictures of this blasted sweater when I'm finished with it.  My biggest fear is that it will look less than impressive when it's complete, and that I'll feel like I wasted a lot of time on a big nothing.  I've come this far, though, so I feel like I need to finish it.

Tomorrow is my day off with Preston, and in the evening we have a Mommies-only play date!  I just have to get through today.

Mom and Dad turn 2

Yesterday was my parents' second anniversary.  They went out to eat at the Melting Pot while Grandma and Grandpa stayed home with me.  Mom says that anniversaries are like birthdays for a marriage.  I wouldn't know about that, because I haven't had a birthday yet!

In other news, we had another fun, and busy, weekend.  On saturday Uncle Ted and Aunt Rachel came over for a visit.  Uncle Ted and I were the Orange Guys.
Then on Saturday night we drove to Gigi and Grandpa Nedick's house for a visit.  Mom and Dad went to visit Uncle Joe, so I stayed home with Gigi and Grandpa.  On Sunday we went to the pool.  I LOVE to swim, especially now that I have learned how to kick my feet and splash.

Adventures with Grandma

It's like having a guest blogger!!

Preston - Aug. 3, 2011

- left with Mommy at 8:45 to be dropped off at Joann's parking lot
- walked through parking lot to Joann's (somehow lost Sophie along the way)
- discovered Sophie was missing so made a quick trip through Joann's and left at 9:30 (found Sophie in front of furniture store which wasn't open yet - YAY)
- started to walk home - Grandma needed to use the bathroon so we went into K-mart.  The loud flushing noise scared Preston - we tried to go out the back door of K-mart but couldn't
- left K-mart around 9:40 - discovered another street across from driveway of parking lot, but it only went in a circle
- at 9:50 we were on the pathway home and it took until 10:25.  Preston started whining on our street, but was awake in the stroller the whole rest of the time.
- gave him a bottle around 10:35 - was a bit fussy for it - put him down for a nap at 10:50
- he cried and fussed a bit until 11:03 (Grandma is very specific)
- woke up at 1:15 (Longest nap EVER)
- Lunch: rice cereal with 2oz milk - 1/3 container squash
- played jumperoo
- bottle at 3:00
- Nap at 3:12 with 10 minutes of crying first (Still very specific)
- Woke up at 4:00 - played an then went for a walk

From Mommy:
It sounds like Grandma, Preston, and Sophie had some great adventures today!  I love getting fun reports when I get home from work.
