In the meantime I have a lot of news. I can now army crawl my way around the house and daycare. I'm better at it at daycare, because they have awesomer toys to crawl for. At home the only things that interest me are keys, cell phones, and remote controls. Don't even TRY to tempt me with regular baby toys... quite frankly, those are for BABIES... and I am a big boy now.
I don't have any toothies yet. Mommy says I am a slow toothie-getter. I'm trying, but the blasted things just don't want to break through!
I am SO good at getting cheerios and eating them. They are delicious, and totally worth the effort of grabbing and shoving in my mouth. I usually get 2 or 3 fingers along with the cheerio, but as long as that round yummy guy is in my mouth I won't complain.
Today we celebrated Grandma's birthday (early). We went to the Olive Garden with Grandma, Grandpa, and Aunt Emily, and afterward they came over to get their stuff out of the freezer..... Which reminds me...
WE HAD A HURRICANE. Ms. Irene swept through here on Saturday night, leaving Grandma and Grandpa (and Gigi and Grandpa) without electricity. It also ravaged the East Coast, causing lots of flooding and extensive power outages. Thankfully, we were fine; virtually untouched by the hurricane. It knocked off our neighbors fence post and dropped a few sticks in our yard (oh the devastation), but nothing other than that. Mom and Dad got up on Sunday morning and made hurricane pancakes (regular pancakes in honor of the hurricane), and because no other stores were open, I made my very first trip to Walmart! We had to go because Mom took advantage of the lazy day to make my croquet hat, and she didn't have the right colored thread. Every Labor Day weekend apparently my crazy family plays croquet in silly hats. This being my first year at the match, I needed a super cool hat. Mom has truly outdone herself, but we can't do a big reveal until the match. I know you all can't wait to see it!
So without further adieu, here I am modeling "the sweater from hell." It's not mine to keep, it's going to my inside baby friend Gavin when he arrives in a few weeks, but Mom wanted to see what it looks like on a real baby.
What do you think of the sweater (Mom needs a lot of praise on this one, it literally took her FOREVER to finish it, with TONS of set backs)?
