It's official; I rolled over 3 times today!  I went from my belly to my back with Mom and Dad and ALL my grandparents as witnesses.  Mom and Dad think I am strong, but that I'm not really aware of what it is that I'm doing, so it's not a useful skill yet.  It's still pretty exciting, though!

Yesterday was Mom's Birthday, so we went to Grandma and Grandpa Krug's house for dinner and Red Velvet Cake.  After that Mom and Dad took me to visit Grandma Krug's friends at Mrs. Kroc's house for stitching night!  I got a LOT of love from a lot of lovely ladies.

Tonight Mom and Dad got to go out together while all of my Grandparents stayed home to baby sit me.  I had a good time with my GP's.  I had a bottle and we played.

Tomorrow we are going to late church, and then to Siobhan and Chris' house for the Super Bowl!  Daddy has a Bach Choir Concert in the afternoon, but I think I am going to stay home and nap with Mommy :-P

From Mommy:
It was really nice to get out tonight with John.  I was not at all worried about leaving Preston;  I knew he was in a LOT of good hands.  We had a really nice time with Siobhan and Chris at Kome.  I had a Kome Bay Breeze, my first cocktail in over 9 months.  I still don't drink much because I'm nursing, so it's a treat for me!

Happy Birthday, MOMMY

From Mommy:
Today is my 27th birthday, and I can't believe that I am a Mommy.  I always sort of assumed that I would have a baby before I turned 30, but the elusive "when" is finally a reality.  I think there has never been a more perfect time to start a family, and Preston is a ray of joy for John and me.  I was telling my friend Sarah today that this feels like my least important birthday yet, because being a parent makes the baby's milestones a lot more exciting than the parent's.  It's still nice to have a day to call my own, and to let a little bit of pampering happen.  My friend Jess brought my lunch this afternoon, and we got to hang out with her 6 month old, Tony.  She was Preston's littlest visitor yet!  Tonight we are headed to my parent's house for dinner and cake.  Here's a photo of Preston, Jess, and Tony.

Here's a photo of me from yesterday!

Today was a fun day for us.  Daddy came home early to do some work from home, and Mommy and I got out of the house... TWICE.
We went to the pediatrician for a weight check.  I weigh 8lbs 2ozs, and nurse Robbie says that I am an over achiever.  After that we came home and headed out for my first professional photo shoot!  I don't have any proofs to show off yet, but I'll post a link as soon as we have one.   I pooped 2 times, and wouldn't fall asleep, but I think there will be some cute shots.  So many new things to look at make it hard for me to relax.
The photographer, Kate, was the same one who photographed Mommy and Daddy's wedding a year and a half ago.  It's really cool that she could take my newborn photos and follow the progression of our little family.  Thanks, Kate, for being so patient with me tonight!
And just for the fun of it, here's a link to my parents' wedding photos (a shameless plug to show them off) :http://www.wesleyworks.com/photography/weddings/carrie_and_john/index.html

This photo is just for you to enjoy!

From Mommy:
We need to teach Preston how to pose.  Babies are so wiggly, I don't envy the photographers who have a limited time with them to get some awesome shots. I'm lucky to have John around to take cute photos of PJ at home, and I think that Kate did an awesome job today.

It was SO nice to get out of the house for a little bit.  This was my first time taking Preston out all by myself.  John came on the photo shoot, but it was just me and the baby on the trip to the pediatrician.  I guess I am spoiled for having a husband with a flexible schedule and who is so helpful.  I have also been blessed to have my parents and John's parents around every weekend, and my mom home with me the first couple of days when John went to work.  I feel for the new moms who have to do it all by themselves from the beginning.  I'm sure it can get lonely and overwhelming in no time.

We got out the Rain Forest Baby Gym from Uncle Ted and Aunt Rachel.  PJ is still kind of little for it, but Jack and Susie think it's the best!  I'm sure in a few weeks Preston will be all about it, but for now, we're glad it's keeping the kitties entertained!

Happy Birthday, Aunt Merideth

Today I'd like to give a big shout out to my Great Aunt Merideth!  It's her Birthday!  I hope I get to see her again really soon, and I'm so glad we got to meet when I was less than a day old at the hospital.  Here we are together:

Yesterday Mommy and I were stuck inside....AGAIN.  This winter weather has been bad this year.  If I wasn't so tiny, Mom and Dad might be more willing to take me out on errands and visits, but as new parents it can be a little bit intimidating for them.  When it's finally Spring we'll go on a lot more outings and explore my new world.
Mom and I took a good nap in the afternoon yesterday, and my kitty brother, Jack, even curled up on the sofa with us.  Maybe we'll be friends sooner than I thought!
I was supposed to have a photo shoot yesterday, you know, to jump start my Gerber Baby modeling career.  Of course, the weather kept us home, so Mom rescheduled it for tomorrow night.  Hopefully things will clear up by then.  We also had to reschedule my weight check with the Pediatrician.  Doctor's appointments are like Final Exams.  We LOVE when they get postponed because it means we have more time to cram!  In this case, that means EAT LIKE A GLUTTON to gain more weight!  J/K, but Mom does call me her little Hoover.  I'm a good, strong, growing boy.
Oh, Good News!  Yesterday Dad gave me my first bottle!  Mom was able to pump enough milk to get a full feeding, so in the evening Daddy and I had "guy time" while he fed me a bottle.  I did great!  It doesn't necessarily mean freedom for Mommy yet, but it's a good start.

It looks like today will be another quiet, at home, possibly nap day.  Well, definitely a nap for me, but possibly one for Mom.  Daddy had to go to work, even in the terrible snow and ice, but maybe we'll try another bottle when he gets home tonight.

From Mommy:
We're not sleeping at any great lengths at night, but we are sleeping.  He usually goes 2-2.5 hours between feedings.  I guess the next step is to try to stretch that to 3 and then 4.  I'm not sure how to do that, but I'm hoping a solution will present itself.  It probably has to do with getting him to eat more (which I'm trying to do, but he ends up spitting up), and him just growing.  In any case, we sleep well enough that I don't feel like a zombie, so I would call that a small success.
