Today I went to the Pediatrician for my big one month check-up. Here are the stats:
Weight: 9lbs 3ozs
Height: 21.5 inches
Head Circ: 14.25
I am right on track, and the doctor says my parents are doing an awesome job of helping me to grow up healthy and strong. I have a small umbilical hernia, which we have to thank for my stylish outie belly button. They are totally unconcerned about it and we don't have to do anything now, or probably ever. But if anything we'll take another look when I am 5 or 6 years old.
Of course a trip to the pedi wouldn't be complete without a trip to Target! Mom stopped in to get a few things. Her shopping list:
Oatmeal
Pears
A new bra
She is totally random sometimes!
After our morning outing we came home to regroup and headed back out to visit Mom's friends at her work. They gave her an awesome present. She'll tell you all about it. We only wanted to stay at work for an hour... that quickly turned into 3 hours, and then it was time to head home. Dad picked up a pizza from our new favorite Pizzeria (Parma Pizza, Cedar Crest and Tilghman, MAJOR shout-out and recommendation), and Siobhan came over to chill!
I took Preston to work today at the request of my lovely coworkers. They said they had a present for me. I apparently would have gotten this gift a while ago, if Preston hadn't decided to crash the party by arriving a week and a half early. They all chipped in and got my this gorgeous, handcrafted crib rocker. It's unlike anything I have ever seen, and I absolutely love it. It's such a grown-up piece of furniture, and I feel somewhat unworthy. I will enjoy it with love and peace; Preston will, too! This piece is kind of legendary. I knew of it's existence while I was still pregnant, but I never thought that it would be mine. My friends Deb and Sharon discovered it on a visit to friends' home who were moving. They were selling and giving away some furniture when Deb spotted this piece and fell in love with it. She came back to the office that day and told me all about it, but I thought it was the stuff dreams are made of. It sounded absolutely stunning, but I promptly forgot about it. I don't like to fawn after things that I know I can't have. Needless to say, I LOVE the gift and the thought, and I am so excited to bring it home. When my mom's schedule calms down a little (in about 3 weeks), I would love for her to make a custom bumper for the bassinet part. I think the people who will be MOST excited to see it are my two grandmothers. They really go for this kind of thing. What do you think, Mema's?
